Membership |
Four appointed by Board of Supervisors (10 total members) |
Term Specifications |
Three years, provided that if a County Supervisor is appointed to the Board, he or she may not serve on the Retirement Board beyond his or her term as County Supervisor. |
Compensation |
Public members and retired members - $100 per day, $500 monthly maximum |
Duties |
Responsible for policy and administration of the retirement system; this partially includes: making investments, making decisions on disability retirement, lobbying on behalf of the system, and making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. |
Qualifications |
• Three appointees who are not connected in any way to County government, who are qualified electors of Fresno County
• One appointee may be a County Supervisor; if not a County Supervisor, this appointee must not be connected in any way to County government. |
Meeting Schedule |
1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month |
AB 1234 Ethics Training |
Pursuant to Government Code Section 53235, if any local agency provides any type of compensation, salary, or stipend to a member of a legislative body or provides reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred by a member of a legislative body in the performance of official duties, then all agency officials shall receive training in ethics. |
